Marsh Hibiscus

The marsh hibiscus is a perennial marsh plant with:
- A broad, round base.
- Round stems with tiny hairs.
- Grayish-green, wedge-shaped leaves that have velvety undersides and can grow to 8 inches.
Hibiscus flowers bloom on the plant from late spring through early fall. Flowers are 6 to 8 inches in diameter and have:
- Five pink or white petals.
- A brilliant yellow central stamen.
- A deep pink to burgundy center.
Marsh hibiscus plants can grow to 7 feet tall.
Where does the marsh hibiscus grow?
Marsh hibiscus plants can be found in fresh and salt marshes along the coast. They also grow in upper Piedmont Valley wetlands.
