Local Government Advisory Committee - Current Projects & Info

Bay Local Government Information Network (Bay LOGIN)

The Bay Local Government Information Network (Bay LOGIN) is facilitated and maintained by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. Bay LOGIN functions as a part of the Chesapeake Bay Program and the Local Government Advisory Committee (LGAC).

Bay LOGIN strives to strengthen the knowledge of local governments in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. It offers a number of services including news flashes, a newsletter, a listserv, queries, surveys, an archive, links to relevant Web sites, and more. These vehicles not only enable local government officials to remain abreast of Bay related issues and significant impacts on local governments specifically regarding the Chesapeake 2000 Agreement, it also provides the means by which to give feedback.

News Flashes

The news flashes are concise news fragments on time-specific issues, which include, but are not limited to the announcement of grant opportunities.

The Newsletter

The newsletter offers updates on bay-related activities by the states, EPA, and other organizations.

Queries

The queries are short surveys focused on one particular issue and provide users an opportunity to offer feedback to the Bay Program on relevant issues. Surveys

The surveys address a broad array of issues and enable local government officials to remain aware of bay-related issues and to provide feedback.

Cbay Listserv

The Cbay Listserv offers local governments within the watershed the chance to share information, strategies, and practices for addressing water resource issues. It allows local government officials to communicate electronically and share information regarding bay-related issues and their impacts on local governments.
