Environmental Literacy Planning

In the coming decades, the public will be called upon to understand complex environmental issues and be aware of the environmental effects that individual decisions can have on local and global scales. Creating a scientifically informed citizenry will require a concerted approach to environmental education, which will require our support of efforts to advance environmental literacy.

Outcome(s)

Environmental Literacy Planning Each participating Bay jurisdiction should develop a comprehensive and systemic approach to environmental literacy for all students in the region that includes policies, practices and voluntary metrics that support the environmental literacy Goals and Outcomes of this Agreement.
