this report provides an overview of the major research findings and range of pollution controls recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency's Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP), in accordance with P.L. 94-116 passed by the 94th Congress on October 17, 1975. The report summaries three main phases of the program: reserach on nutrient enrichment, toxxic substances, and submerged aquatic vegetation; a characterization of the Bay's water quality and resources; and a management framework for the ameliorating current pollution problems and preserving the future quality of Chesapeake Bay.
