Principals' Staff Committee Commitment to Open and Public Participation

On June 16, 2014, the Chesapeake Executive Council signed the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement. In a letter dated August 15, 2014, the members of the Principals' Staff Committee (PSC) pledged on behalf of the Executive Council to engage the citizens of all watershed jurisdictions openly and publicly in implementing the goals and outcomes of the new Agreement.
PSC members also pledged that within 90 days of the signing of the Agreement--on or before September 16, 2014--they will identify the management strategies that each partner expects to participate in the development of for the frirst two years of the Agreement. By June 16, 2015, they will develop and finalize these strategies in consultation with watershed citizens, organizations and public and nonprofit agencies. PSC members will provide a period for public review and input proir to the final adoption of these strategies, and will make both the strategies and reports on their progress available at public meetings and online.
