Water Quality Monitoring Field Day and Media Availability

Join experts from the York County Planning Commission, U.S. Geological Survey Pennsylvania Water Science Center and the Chesapeake Bay Program Download

Leadership and scientists from the Chesapeake Bay Program will join the York County Planning Commission and the U.S. Geological Survey Pennsylvania Water Science Center on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 in celebration of the Watershed Alliance of York’s 20th annual Watershed Week.

Members of the public are invited to join in the demonstrations and take part in the Water Quality Monitoring Field Day near Goldsboro, Pa. from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Leadership and scientists will hold discussions streamside and be available to the media from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The U.S. Geological Survey operates six continuous, real-time water quality monitoring stations in York County. This effort is in partnership with the York County Commissioners, York County Planning Commission and York County Conservation District. The stations measure water quality for flow, depth, pH, turbidity and nitrate. Sampling and operations will be demonstrated at the Goldsboro station.
