Purpose

For the first time, the Habitat and Fisheries GITs will hold a joint meeting to discuss common themes and goals. Presentations, followed by breakout discussions, will allow us to identify areas of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed important for multiple outcomes of interest to both GITs that could serve as basis for a joint proposal for GIT funding. Structure: This three-day meeting will follow a staggered format; the Habitat GIT will meet June 19th-20th and the Fisheries GIT will meet June 20th-21st. Day 1 (June 19th): Habitat GIT meets to handle internal business items. Day 2 (June 20th): Both Habitat and Fisheries GITs meet jointly. Day 3 (June 21st): Fisheries GIT meets to handle internal business items. Presentations will fall into the following categories: Science and Data Tools (including a recap of the April STAC Fish Habitat Workshop) Planning and Policy Tools (such as the USACE Comprehensive Plan) Financing Opportunities
