Purpose

This is a technical transfer workshop on the CE-QUAL-ICM code for water quality modeling in the Chesapeake. Six different generations of the CE-QUAL-ICM code have been used to assess Chesapeake Bay water quality for more than three decades and the code will continue to be used until 2025 in the Phase 6 suite of models. The class will meet for 3 days, from July 22-24, 2019 at the NCTC Training Center. Students are expected to bring a laptop computer and course materials will be available for download prior to the class. The workshop will be comprised of lectures and hands-on class work using a 30-box simple model set-up, and finally the full 57,000 cell model will be demonstrated with cloud computing. The workshop is sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP), the Chesapeake Research Consortium (CRC), and the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC).
