Reaching 2025 Report

In October 2022, the Chesapeake Executive Council charged the Principals’ Staff Committee with recommending a critical path forward that prioritized and outlined the next steps for meeting the goals and outcomes of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement leading up to and beyond 2025. The result is Charting a Course to 2025: A Report and Recommendations for the Chesapeake Executive Council on How to Best Address and Integrate New Science and Restoration Strategies Leading Up To 2025. The first version of the report was published on July 22, 2023 and received nearly 200 comments from 19 organizations. The second version was published on November 22, 2023 and the final version was posted on January 17, 2024.

Executive Council Climate Change Directive Workplan

In December 2021, the Management Board discussed a partnership response to the Executive Council Directive No. 21-1 Collective Action for Climate Change. They established a planning team composed of partner representatives to lead development of a workplan for implementing the Directive’s objectives, to be completed by the summer of 2022. This initial workplan represents the collective effort of the planning committee and the contributions of CBP staff and experts. It presents a set of partnership-level actions that, if pursued collaboratively with strong engagement from partners and CBP programs, would accelerate progress in meeting the Directive’s objectives, address critical areas of need, and help lay the necessary groundwork for future action and growth in climate readiness and resiliency in the Chesapeake Bay region.

Strategy Review System

The Strategy Review System (SRS) helps the partnership consistently apply adaptive management to its work toward achieving the outcomes of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement. ChesapeakeDecisions is a tool that promotes transparency and guides the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Goal Implementation Teams and Management Board members through the Strategy Review System.
