Marcus Asante founded a sailing club to connect more African Americans with their local waterways

Marcus Asante of Baltimore, Maryland, believes sailing is a way to engage with the natural world on a higher level. He is the founder of Universal Sailing Club, one of the first African American sailing clubs on the Chesapeake Bay.
