Purpose

Please join us for the launch of the Chesapeake Bay Program’s new website for educators, the Bay Backpack. From the historic McNasby's Oyster Company building at the Annapolis Maritime Museum we will unveil this exciting new resource that serves as a one-stop-shop for educators interested in teaching about the Chesapeake Bay. The Bay Backpack provides all the tools you need to get your students engaged in hands-on learning about the Chesapeake Bay including lesson plans, field study programs, and professional development and funding opportunities. Distinguished speakers include Representative John P. Sarbanes, Mayor of Annapolis Josh Cohen and Director of NOAA’s Chesapeake Bay Office Peyton Robertson. Door prizes will be awarded to attendees so be sure to come early and sign-up! We hope you can join us for the evening and help spread the word about this great new resource. Street parking will be available throughout Eastport; we suggest you park at least a block away due to construction around the museum.
