Purpose

A recording of the webinar can be viewed using the following link: http://epawebconferencing.acms.com/p806rx2p1bu/ The Chesapeake Bay Program’s Land Use Workgroup will present a 2-hour webinar on Tuesday, September 20, from 1-3 p.m. on the process for local government review of new Bay Program land use data. The data is being used to inform the next generation of models, currently under development, for estimating nutrient and sediment loads to the Chesapeake Bay and the effects of Best Management Practices on those loads. The main portion of the webinar will cover how the land use data was produced and how it will be used in the model. The new land use data incorporates data submitted to the Bay Program by a number of local governments. The webinar will address how local governments can review the data and how the Bay Program will respond to comments. To ensure that the CBP has accurately interpreted local land use and parcel data, the CBP is seeking local and external review of these final land use datasets. This review process is open to all interested parties, but it is especially intended for local governments to participate in it. The webinar will include an online facilitated question and answer session. The webinar will be recorded for subsequent viewing.
