Land Use Workgroup conference call, August 2015
This meeting is open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, it may be recorded for internal use.
Date and Time
Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 10:00am - 3:00pm
Purpose
Monthly meeting for the Land Use Workgroup. Agenda and materials will be posted when they become available. Contact Lindsey Gordon (Gordon.lindsey@epa.gov) with questions. The August 27th Land Use Workgroup meeting will focus entirely reviewing the version of the Phase 6 land use datasets that will inform the October 15th model calibration. These data include a combination of local and regional land use/cover data. We will review the methods in detail by land use class. For each class, MDP and MDE will highlight differences between their methodology and the CBPO methodology. Attached are the meeting agenda and two documents that explain the CBPO regional methods and local methods respectively. The local methodology paper should be read first as it is better organized and ready for dissemination. For the regional methodology, pay attention to the data that are being used for each analysis in addition to the methods. We apologize in advance for the regional methodology not being ready for public dissemination. When reviewing the methods, keep in mind that much of the regional data will be superseded this coming year with the production of 1m high-res land cover data for the entire watershed. We do not expect, however, that the wetland class or developed mask to be superseded by the high-res land cover data because both are partially derived from data unrelated to land cover (e.g., parcels, land use, and the National Wetlands Inventory).
