Description

Oysters are critical live organisms in coastal and estuarine food webs, as well as critical components of the physical habitat and chemical budgets in those same environments. The management of oysters therefore requires the consideration of two biological reference points: one for the live oysters, and one for the shell that results from their death. This report describes the results of a study to consider of the status of oyster shell resources in the Chesapeake Bay.
