Chesapeake Bay Program Federal Coordination Framework
This framework explains how federal agencies participate in the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership, and how they coordinate internally to support the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement.
Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is a signatory partner in the Chesapeake Bay Program representing the federal government. Because federal agencies bring a breadth of expertise and resources to the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership, coordination across agencies is essential, helping agencies to:
- Identify and maximize opportunities to align resources and budgets in support of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement.
- Whenever possible, seek consensus to establish a unified federal position on partnership activities.
This framework explains how federal agencies participate in the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership's leadership and goal teams, and how they coordinate internally to shape policymaking, set priorities and support decision-making.
