Of the many best management practices (BMPs) used to improve the quality of waters and habitats in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the single best BMP may be the restoration of riparian forest buffers. But restoration progress has slowed, and new challenges have emerged around program availability and the practice of tracking, reporting, verifying and conserving riparian forest buffers.
