Ranking Ecosystem Impacts on Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab Using Empirical Gaussian Graphical Models
This study applied probabilistic belief network analysis to understand variables influencing the dynamics of blue crabs in the Chesapeake Bay to support ecosystem approaches to manage this species.
Description
This GIT-funded project was completed by the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, and uses probabilistic belief network analysis and Gaussian graphical models to examine how climatic conditions, water quality and biological factors influence the abundance and variability of blue crab populations in the Chesapeake Bay.
