Sediment in the Chesapeake Bay and Management Issues: Tidal Erosion Processes
Background information on sediment processes and data that can help determine where shoreline management and sediment reduction measures can improve water quality and restore and protect living resources.
Description
Excess sediment degrades water clarity and damages critical habitats and living resources. This report provides background information on sediment processes, as well as data that can help determine the effects of tidal sediment and assess whether reductions in tidal sediment input may be effective in meeting sediment reduction goals. This report can also serve as a general targeting and prioritization tool for shoreline management and sediment controls to improve water quality and help restore and protect living resources.
