    Agriculture Modeling Subcommittee Webinar

    Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Open webinar hosted by the Agriculture Modeling Subcommittee to review the Phase 6 beta version of Scenario Builder. Objectives for the webinar will be to: 1) introduce the concepts and assumptions contained within Scenario Builder – many of which were reviewed by the AMS over the last two years; 2) review examples of Scenario Builder’s resulting nutrient application rates to crops; and 3) answer any initial questions about the beta version of the tool. This webinar will also serve as the kickoff for a full review of the tool’s documentation during which the AMS hopes to receive comments that could result in improvements to the tool later this spring and summer. Adobe Connect: https://epawebconferencing.acms.com/ams/ Conference line: 866-299-3188, Code: 267-985-6222 Both a draft version of Scenario Builder documentation and initial application rates to crops have been posted on the Chesapeake Bay Program’s website, to the Agriculture Workgroup and Water Quality GIT pages under the 'Projects and Resources' tab. Copy and paste the following URL into your web browser to access the documentation and data: https://archive.chesapeakebay.net/?prefix=Modeling/Phase6/ Download the zip file titled: "Ph6CalibrationFiles_20151109.zip" Two files of particular interest are the “SB_Applications_to_LandUses” file which contains Scenario Builder’s estimated nutrient application rates to each land use by nutrient source type, and the “SB_Applications_to_Crops” file which provides similar information by individual crop type. Data in these files do not represent nutrient loads to nearby water bodies or the Bay, but merely the initial applications to the land from which the Watershed Model can then simulate nutrient runoff and transport.
