Aleyna Loughran-Pierce works for the Chesapeake Research Consortium as a staffer to the Thriving Habitats, Fisheries & Wildlife Goal Team. She provides support to the Freshwater Mussels Workgroup, the SAV Workgroup, and the Wetlands Workgroup. Aleyna graduated from the University of Virginia in 2025 with a Bachelor's in Environmental Science and Astronomy with a minor in Art History. Prior to joining the CRC, she was a member of the Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps, where she worked with the USGS Eastern Ecological Science Center assisting with waterbird research in the Chesapeake Bay. Though originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Aleyna has grown to love the Chesapeake Bay.
