Kyra Madunich joined the Chesapeake Research Consortium in 2026 as staff to the Communications Team and Strategic Engagement Team. Kyra earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Pomona College and master’s degree in Geography and Environmental Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Prior to joining the CRC, she worked as a naturalist for New Jersey Audubon’s Monarch Monitoring Project and Maine Audubon’s Project Puffin, as well as on the communications team at the League of Conservation Voters in Washington, D.C. Outside of supporting the restoration of the Chesapeake, she loves spending as much time as possible outside reading, looking for bugs, hiking, and swimming.
