Michelle is a Physical Scientist who specializes in mapping and modeling landscape structure and watershed processes. She holds a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Before joining the Chesapeake Bay Program, Michelle worked for the USGS MD-DE-DC Water Science Center as a Physical Scientist for four years. At MD-DE-DC, she provided leadership and science support to water quality studies, flood frequency analyses and software development projects.

Before joining the USGS, Michelle cultivated knowledge in landscape ecology and GIS as a research assistant at UMBC's Department of Geography and Environmental Systems and will soon complete her mater's degree. Post-bacc, Michelle also worked as a field technician with MD DNR's Water Quality Monitoring Division where she spent her days on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.
