The NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office hosts training forums to build the skills of educators to plan and implement Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) and sustainable school programming at the classroom or school district level, among other topics. This allows educators to better understand, promote, and deliver important programs that contribute to the Environmental Literacy outcomes of the Watershed Agreement. Who is invited? Environmental education practitioners and representatives of the formal education community working at the district-level.
What is the format? Typically an in person gathering that has often been hosted at the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) in WV. For example, an environmental literacy forum was hosted at NCTC in February 2025. Opportunities to host virtual events are also being explored in order to broaden the number and type of participants who can attend the EL Forum.
