Measure and Explain Water Quality Changes
CompleteThis project enhanced the analysis and explanation of water quality monitoring information.
Description
In 2015, the Chesapeake Bay Program was tasked with enhancing the analysis and explanation of monitoring information as part of the Mid-Point Assessment for the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load for Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Sediment (Bay TMDL). Chesapeake Bay Program partners endorsed (PSC, May 2012) an integrated approach that includes three primary pieces of information to measure progress toward water quality standards: Reporting of water quality management practices; analyzing trends of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and sediment in the watershed; and assessing attainment of DO, chlorophyll-a, and water clarity/SAV standards.
