About
The Local Government Leadership Workgroup works with groups across the Chesapeake Bay Program partnership to effectively engage and increase the knowledge and capacity of local government leaders.
History
The Local Government Leadership Workgroup was established as the Local Leadership Workgroup with the signing of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement [PDF] in 2014. The agreement's Local Leadership Outcome recognized the importance that local governments play in the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. In 2025, the Watershed Agreement was revised and the Local Leadership Outcome was renamed the Local Government Leadership Outcome. In alignment with this change, the workgroup was renamed the Local Government Leadership Workgroup.
