Calculation Methodology of the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Brook Trout Resiliency Target of Reducing Identified Threats by 15%

Publication date:

This document outlines the methodology used to calculate the current state of acid mine drainage, unforested areas, fragmented habitat from culverts, unprotected lands, and unpaved roads as they relate to brook trout healthy watersheds in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Each of these "threats" affect the resiliency of healthy brook trout populations in the face of changing environmental conditions. In an effort to reduce this, the Chesapeake Bay Program set a target to reduce these threats by 15%, which is detailed in this documentation.
