The Chesapake Bay Policy for the Introduction of Non-Indigenous Aquatic Species adopted by the Chesapeake Bay Executive Council in December 1993 (hereafter the Policy) is intended to minimize the economic and/or ecological risks associated with first time introductions of non-indigenous aquatic species to waters of the Chesapeake Bay region. This implementation plan is intended to reflect the language and the intent of the Policy statement. Recommendations which are developed through the Policy and this Implementation Plan are advisory, not compulsory, for the watershed jurisdictions.
