The Chesapeake Bay Watershed is expected to become home to almost three million more people by the year 2020. This will continue to test our ability to meet our restoration goals while accommodating growth and development. New residents and citizens who are already in the region will want to atttain economic prosperity, will expect to live in communities where the quality of life is high, and will insist on an environment that is clean and available for their emjoyment. Intefrating economic health, resource protection, management and enhancement, and community participation will be a challenge for us alol. this report represents a new begining to meet this challenge in a manner that is sensitive to local issues and local autonomy and emphasizes our desire to hel communities help themselves.
