Reducing pollution from nonpoint sources has been one of the most difficult challenges in the Chesapeake Bay restoration effort. The states and the federal government have joined in mounting a comprehensive effort to defime, quamtify and control nonpoint source pollution. The level of effort and the dollar reqources that we have devoted to this challenge since 1983 are unprecedented.
