Chesapeake Bay Region 2024 Environmental Literacy Report

The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Literacy Indicator Tool (ELIT) was developed to monitor the capacity and progress of public school districts toward meeting the environmental literacy goal stated in the 2014 Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement. The ELIT is administered every two years as an electronic survey to all local education agencies (LEAs) in six jurisdictions: the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. This report presents results from the 2024 ELIT for all LEAs included in the survey in these jurisdictions.
