Bailey joined the Chesapeake Research Consortium in May 2023. He works as a staffer on the Sustainable Fisheries Goal Implementation Team. He staffs several groups within the Bay Program including the Invasive Catfish Workgroup, the Virginia and Maryland Interagency Oyster Teams, the Fish Habitat Action Team, The Hypoxia Collaborative Team, the Chesapeake Bay Stock Assessment Committee, the Plastic Pollution Action Team, and the Forage Action Team. He is specifically interested in the management of aquatic invasive species and environmental education. Prior to starting with the CRC, Bailey worked as a substitute teacher in Virginia. He obtained a M.S in Wildlife, Aquatic, and Wildlands Science and Management from Texas Tech University and a B.S in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina. In his free time Bailey enjoys playing ice hockey, cooking, hiking, surfing, swimming, and spending as much time outside as possible.
